A true story of two men who should never have met – a quadriplegic aristocrat who was injured in a paragliding accident and a young man from the projects.
Review Sentiment
Driss arranges Philippe's successful date with Eléonore before departing
Philippe flees before meeting Eléonore and calls Driss instead
The film recovers from Philippe's moment of cowardice with Eléonore to reach its emotional peak when Driss successfully facilitates their meeting.
The Intouchables maintains consistently high audience sentiment throughout, with particular peaks during the cultural clash moments like the birthday concert and the deeply moving finale. Critics consistently praised the chemistry between Cluzet and Sy, the film's balance of humor and emotion, and its authentic portrayal of an unlikely friendship. The sentiment remains elevated even during more predictable plot moments, reflecting the strength of the performances and direction.
