Francey and Helen brawl at university prom
Peter gets drunk trying to force his father's hand
The film drops from the beloved Big Apple dance scene to Stewart's widely criticized drunk performance.
Critics praised the chemistry between Rogers and Stewart and celebrated specific comedic moments like the catfight and dance scenes. However, many found Stewart's weak, spineless character frustrating throughout the middle portions. The film succeeds as charming screwball comedy despite plot contrivances that tested some viewers' patience.
