Ballerina
Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Eve Macarro begins her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.
Review Sentiment
Eve fights through the Austrian village populated entirely by Cultists
Eve trains for twelve years at the Ruska Roma assassin school
The film jumps from its weakest point during the training montage to spectacular action sequences in the Alpine village.
Ballerina delivers spectacular action sequences that match the John Wick franchise's signature style, with the Alpine village battle serving as a particular highlight. However, critics consistently noted weak dialogue, predictable plotting, and lack of emotional depth compared to the original films. Ana de Armas's committed performance and creative action choreography ultimately make it a worthy if formulaic addition to the Wickverse.
