Miami Vice
A case involving drug lords and murder in South Florida takes a personal turn for undercover detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs. Unorthodox Crockett gets involved romantically with the Chinese-Cuban wife of a trafficker of arms and drugs, while Tubbs deals with an assault on those he loves.

Final gunfight between team and Yero at Miami port
Aryan Brotherhood kidnaps Trudy on Yero's orders
The film drops from its lowest point during Trudy's mechanical kidnapping plot to its highest during Mann's masterfully executed shipyard shootout.
Miami Vice showcases Mann's visual mastery and action filmmaking skills, particularly in its opening and climactic sequences, but suffers from poor chemistry between leads and unconvincing romantic elements. Critics consistently praised the realistic procedural elements and stunning cinematography while criticizing unintelligible dialogue and lack of character development. The film delivers on Mann's signature style but falls short of his previous crime masterpieces.
