Mickey 17 returns to find aggressive Mickey 18 already printed
Security agent Kai attempts to seduce Mickey 17 in quarters
The film peaks with the introduction of Mickey 18 and Pattinson's dual performance, then drops significantly during the middle act's unfocused subplots.
Mickey 17 starts strong with an original premise and Pattinson's compelling dual performance earning high praise from critics. The film maintains solid momentum through its world-building and creature design, but loses focus in the middle act with heavy-handed political satire and unnecessary subplots. While the anti-colonial themes and visual spectacle keep it watchable, the rushed ending prevents it from reaching the heights of Bong Joon-ho's previous work.
