Leatherface kills Kirk with hammer in the house
Sally, Franklin and friends begin their Texas road trip
The film jumps from its weakest character development during the road trip setup to one of horror cinema's most shocking moments when Kirk first encounters Leatherface.
The film starts strong with atmospheric dread but suffers from weak character development in the early road trip scenes. Once Leatherface appears, the sentiment soars as reviewers consistently praise the relentless terror and iconic imagery. The film maintains high scores through its brutal efficiency and memorable finale, cementing its status as a horror masterpiece despite some pacing issues.
