Failed invasion attempt becomes international embarrassment
The film's sentiment drops sharply from the peak planning phase to the catastrophic failure at Macuto Bay, falling 3.5 points as the operation collapses
Men of War follows a compelling true story with fascinating characters and geopolitical intrigue, building tension through the planning phases before documenting the spectacular failure of Operation Gideon. While reviewers found the subject matter inherently interesting and appreciated the neutral approach to documenting the coup attempt, some felt the execution could have been more efficient in presenting the complex story.
