Biggest Swing

The film plummets from exciting action sequences to tedious captivity drama when Charlie and Andy are captured by the Shop, then rebounds dramatically for the climactic destruction.

Firestarter starts promisingly with chase sequences and Drew Barrymore's compelling performance, but significantly weakens during the middle Shop facility sequences that critics found slow and unconvincing. The film redeems itself with George C. Scott's villainous turn and an explosive finale that showcases impressive special effects and emotional payoff.
