The film starts strong with Pike's compelling performance and an intriguing premise, maintains engagement through the Pike-Dinklage dynamic, but loses credibility in the middle act with implausible action sequences. The controversial success montage frustrated many viewers before the satisfying ending redeemed the moral stakes.
