Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts
Trixie charmed audiences and judges as winner of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. But the grind of performing and the pressure of the title proves that heavy is the head that wears the tiara.
Review Sentiment
Brian's resilience and beautiful character shine through adversity
Trixie and Katya's relationship faces serious interpersonal struggles
The documentary drops from showcasing Trixie's musical success to the painful revelation of Katya's problems and their friendship crisis, creating the film's most emotionally difficult stretch.
The documentary follows a compelling emotional arc that begins with curiosity about the person behind the drag persona and builds to deep appreciation for Brian's authentic character. While the middle section becomes emotionally heavy as personal struggles and friendship crises unfold, the film ultimately succeeds in revealing Brian's resilience and genuine care for others. Viewers consistently praised the raw, unglamorous honesty of the portrayal, though some found certain touring segments less engaging than the personal revelations.
