Underdog starts with a decent premise and benefits from Jason Lee's voice work and Peter Dinklage's villain performance, but quickly deteriorates into formulaic family fare. While young children found entertainment in the superhero dog antics, adult reviewers consistently criticized the poor dialogue, weak CGI, and hackneyed plot developments that dominate the middle and later portions.
