Newsies

Review Sentiment
David motivates the dejected newsies with an inspiring song
Medda performs for the gathered newsies before police arrive
The film drops significantly from the triumphant 'King of New York' celebration to Jack's arrest and betrayal, falling 2.0 points as the story takes its darkest turn.
Newsies sustains genuine warmth throughout, reaching its highest points during the standout musical numbers, including the two most celebrated songs from the film, which critics consistently singled out for praise. The energy drops during the dramatic middle section, where production constraints and weaker dialogue become noticeable, before the story rebounds with a rousing finale that reviewers found both historically grounded and inspirational.
