The film starts promisingly with clever setup and builds to genuine romantic chemistry between Curtis and Wood. However, it deteriorates significantly in the final act with contrived complications and an almost universally panned chase sequence. Despite strong performances from the leads and witty early dialogue, the film ultimately succumbs to formulaic romantic comedy conventions.
