Love Hurts starts promisingly with charm and effective action choreography but quickly deteriorates into repetitive exposition and a poorly developed central romance. While Ke Huy Quan's charismatic performance and some well-executed fight scenes provide moments of entertainment, the film is ultimately let down by weak writing, uneven pacing, and a complete lack of chemistry between the leads. The brief 83-minute runtime prevents it from being completely unwatchable, but critics found it painfully generic despite the talent involved.
