The film recovers from its lowest point during the breakup to find genuine emotional resonance in the museum opening finale.
Critics found Bros to be an authentic and groundbreaking gay rom-com undermined by Billy Eichner's abrasive lead performance. While many appreciated the film's sharp satire and important representation, Bobby's obnoxious behavior made him difficult to root for throughout much of the runtime. The film succeeds best in its quieter character moments and when exploring LGBTQ history and community dynamics.
