With the wedding of her younger sister fast approaching, Kat Ellis faces the undesirable prospect of traveling alone to London for the ceremony. While this is bad enough, Jeffrey, the man who left her as they moved closer to marriage, happens to be the groom's best man. Determined to show everyone -- most of all Jeffrey -- that her romantic life is as full and thrilling as ever, Kat hires a charming male escort as her date.

Biggest Swing

The film's biggest drop occurs when Kat discovers Amy's betrayal and rejects Nick, plunging from the romantic high of their genuine connection to the bitter low of feeling betrayed from all sides.

The Wedding Date follows a predictable but satisfying romantic arc that reviewers found formulaic yet enjoyable. Despite criticism of wooden acting and cheap production values, most audiences appreciated the chemistry between Messing and Mulroney, particularly in the romantic climax. The film delivers exactly what viewers expected from a lighthearted romantic comedy, earning modest praise as entertaining escapism rather than cinematic achievement.
