Strike is a young city drug pusher under the tutelage of drug lord Rodney Little. When a night manager at a fast-food restaurant is found with four bullets in his body, Strike’s older brother turns himself in as the killer. Detective Rocco Klein doesn’t buy the story, however, setting out to find the truth, and it seems that all the fingers point toward Strike & Rodney.

Biggest Swing

The film peaks with Andre's powerful confrontation of Strike, then drops significantly when the resolution feels anticlimactic to critics.

Critics consistently praised the performances, particularly Harvey Keitel and the supporting cast, while appreciating Lee's authentic portrayal of urban life and the drug trade. However, many found the stylistic approach sometimes worked against the gritty realism, and the resolution disappointed some who expected a stronger payoff. The film maintains solid critical respect throughout but never quite reaches the heights of Lee's best work.
