Review Sentiment
High speed pursuit through the streets of Paris
Storm Shadow and Baroness infiltrate The Pit
The film jumps from its lowest point during the predictable Cobra infiltration to its highest peak with the thrilling Paris chase sequence
Critics found G.I. Joe to be a mixed but ultimately entertaining summer blockbuster that succeeds as pure action spectacle while failing in character development and storytelling. The film peaks during its standout action sequences like the Paris chase and martial arts fights, but struggles with weak plotting and dialogue throughout. Most reviewers appreciated it as mindless fun that delivers on its promise of explosive entertainment, even while acknowledging its significant flaws.
