Their newfound partnership soon gets put to the test when Dusty's old-school, macho dad and Brad's gentle father arrive to turn the holiday upside down. After a sudden change in plans, the four men decide to take the kids to a luxury resort for a fun-filled getaway that turns into a hilarious and chaotic adventure.

Don's divorce is revealed during the improv skit
The live nativity falls apart with fighting and drinking
The film drops significantly from the emotional revelation of Don's divorce to the chaotic nativity disaster sequence.
Daddy's Home 2 maintains a steady but unremarkable comedic tone throughout most of its runtime, with the inspired casting of Gibson and Lithgow providing the strongest moments. The film peaks during its emotional revelations in the middle act but struggles with over-the-top slapstick sequences that feel forced. Despite its flaws, it delivers enough family-friendly laughs to satisfy fans of the original.
