Dance Flick starts with modest promise as a dance movie parody but quickly deteriorates into crude, off-genre tangents that reviewers found offensive and unfunny. While a few moments like the fat guy dance battle earned genuine laughs, the film's reliance on vulgar humor and pointless non-dance parodies ultimately disappointed even viewers hoping for a return to form from the Wayans family. The completely unrelated Twilight ending particularly frustrated critics as a senseless conclusion to an already struggling comedy.
