The Guilt Trip

The Guilt Trip starts poorly with critics finding the mother-son dynamic repetitive and contrived, reaching its lowest point during the nagging-heavy early travel segments. However, the film recovers in its second half as Streisand and Rogen develop genuine chemistry, peaking with the beloved steak eating challenge sequence. While never achieving consistent laughs, critics appreciated the shift toward authentic character development and touching moments between the leads.
