The film jumps from the strip club's testicles scene (8.2) down to failed pickup attempts (5.9), showing how the prank quality varied significantly
Bad Grandpa starts modestly with setup and builds through increasingly outrageous pranks, peaking spectacularly at the strip club and beauty pageant scenes. While critics praised Knoxville's committed performance and several standout sequences, many felt the narrative structure sometimes interrupted the prank momentum and that the film's best moments were spoiled by trailers.
