Biggest Swing

The film's biggest swing occurs from the middle political machinations to the emotionally devastating final act, rising from 6.0 during Suffolk's failed rebellion to 9.2 for the lovers' final farewell.

Lady Jane follows a classic arc from reserved historical setup to deeply moving romantic tragedy. While critics found the early political intrigue well-crafted but emotionally distant, the developing romance between Helena Bonham Carter and Cary Elwes increasingly captivated audiences. The film reaches its emotional peak in the final act, with reviewers consistently moved to tears by the lovers' farewell and execution sequence.
