The film drops significantly after the major twist reveal, falling from solid thriller territory around 7.0 to disappointing Cape Fear knockoff levels around 4.5

Just Cause starts as a compelling legal thriller anchored by strong performances from Connery, Fishburne, and especially Ed Harris as the manipulative serial killer. However, the film suffers a dramatic decline in quality after the major plot twist, devolving into a predictable and poorly executed Cape Fear-style climax that disappointed most critics. While the first two-thirds maintain solid engagement, the final act's contrivances and over-the-top ending significantly damage the overall experience.
