Biggest Swing

The film drops sharply from the praised Shapiro evaluation scene to Morgan's killing spree, where critics felt it abandoned its philosophical potential for generic horror.

Morgan starts promisingly with decent character work and philosophical sci-fi concepts, peaking during Paul Giamatti's tense evaluation scene. However, the film loses its way in the second half, devolving from thoughtful AI thriller into a conventional slasher that critics found frustratingly generic and poorly written. While some appreciated the action and Anya Taylor-Joy's performance, most felt it was an unoriginal retread of better films like Ex Machina.
