Hello, Dolly!
Dolly Levi is a strong-willed matchmaker who travels to Yonkers, New York in order to see the miserly "well-known unmarried half-a-millionaire" Horace Vandergelder. In doing so, she convinces his niece, his niece's intended, and Horace's two clerks to travel to New York City.

The film jumps from the awkward chemistry between Streisand and Matthau at the hat shop to the soaring spectacle of 'Before the Parade Passes By'
Hello, Dolly! builds momentum throughout its runtime, starting modestly but reaching spectacular heights with its massive production numbers. While critics noted issues with the central romance and pacing in early scenes, they consistently praised the musical sequences, choreography, and Streisand's commanding performance. The film peaks during the restaurant sequence and title song, making it a flawed but ultimately entertaining spectacle.
