Charley Partanna is a hitman who works for the Prizzis, one of the richest crime families in the US. When he sees Irene Walker, it's love at first sight. But he soon finds that she, too, is a killer for hire. Charley can overlook his suspicions, but he can't turn off his heart. And the couple must remember that even if they love each other, the Prizzis love only money.

Peak Moment

Charley and Irene simultaneously draw weapons in their bedroom confrontation

7.8at 1h 48m
Lowest Moment

Irene shoots Mrs. Calhane, endangering the family's police relationships

5.8at 1h 24m
Biggest Swing

The film recovers from its weakest section around the Mrs. Calhane shooting to deliver its strongest moment in the bedroom standoff climax, gaining 2.0 points.

Critics found Prizzi's Honor an ambitious but uneven satire that struggled with tonal consistency throughout its runtime. While praising the performances, especially Turner's chemistry with Nicholson and Hickey's terrifying Don Prizzi, many felt the film was too slow and complicated, never quite deciding whether it was comedy or drama. The bedroom confrontation provided the film's strongest moment where the dark comedy finally clicked.
