The Mask
Timid bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss discovers a magical mask infused with the spirit of the Norse god Loki. Donning it transforms him into an unrestrained, green-faced, cartoon-like wild man. While the mask grants him the confidence to woo a local singer, it also makes him the target of a ruthless mobster.

The massive leap from Stanley's downtrodden introduction to his first magical transformation as The Mask, jumping from 5.8 to 8.8
Critics consistently praise Jim Carrey's rubber-faced genius and the film's cartoonish special effects, with the Coco Bongo dance sequence representing the absolute peak of entertainment. While some found the plot routine and the film overly broad, most appreciated it as perfect vehicle for Carrey's physical comedy talents. The sentiment arc mirrors Stanley's transformation from zero to hero, though critics noted the film drags slightly in its final act.
