Government agencies confront the cowgirls over the cranes
The film crashes from a promising 6.5 opening to a dismal 2.2 during the government standoff, a drop of 4.3 points
Even Cowgirls Get the Blues starts promisingly with reviewers praising the first 10-40 minutes, particularly Uma Thurman's introduction as Sissy. However, the film collapses dramatically once the ranch storyline begins, with reviewers universally panning Rain Phoenix's performance and the increasingly incoherent plot. The sentiment never recovers from this mid-film nosedive, leaving audiences frustrated and calling it one of the worst films ever made.
