Summer's Blood starts promisingly with Ashley Greene's rebellious protagonist and Peter Mooney's charming potential love interest, but collapses once the horror elements emerge. Critics consistently found the middle section's psychological torture scenes boring rather than frightening, praising only Stephen McHattie's late appearance.
