Finn wins favor with Osbourne and befriends the family
Everything becomes dark after the violent assault
The film plummets from its peak acceptance moment to extremely dark territory after the violent assault, dropping 4 points and fundamentally changing from light comedy to disturbing drama.
Fierce People starts promisingly with strong performances and intriguing class commentary, reaching its peak as Finn integrates with the wealthy family. However, a jarring violent assault midway through creates a devastating tonal shift that many critics found nearly unwatchable. While the performances remain strong throughout, the film never fully recovers from this dramatic pivot, leaving viewers with two essentially different movies awkwardly joined together.
