Critics Sentiment
Bingo Bongo convincingly passes as human to institute director
Bingo Bongo's failed attempts to return to Africa
The film swings from its comedic peak when Bingo Bongo fools the director to its lowest point during the overextended nightclub sequence.
Bingo Bongo starts slowly with familiar Tarzan-inspired setup but finds its comedic footing in the middle sections. While some sequences stretch the humor too thin, the film succeeds as lighthearted entertainment that manages to incorporate meaningful social commentary about animal treatment.
