The Presidio
Jay Austin is now a civilian police detective. Colonel Caldwell was his commanding officer years before when he left the military police over a disagreement over the handling of a drunk driver. Now a series of murders that cross jurisdictions force them to work together again. That Austin is now dating Caldwell's daughter is not helping their relationship.

Chinatown chase sequence
Romance subplot begins
The film jumps from its weakest point during the romance subplot introduction to its strongest during the San Francisco chase sequence
The Presidio starts strong with an explosive opening but settles into predictable territory that disappoints given the talented cast. However, specific moments like Sean Connery's memorable scenes and well-executed San Francisco chase sequences elevate the experience above its pedestrian plotting.
