Turbulence
Young married couple Zach and Emmy decide to take a hot air balloon trip across the Italian Dolomites to rekindle their relationship. When they and pilot Harry are joined by a third passenger, Julia, events unfold in ways they could never imagine five thousand meters in the air.
Audience Sentiment
Beautiful mountain views
Characters turn on each other
The film drops significantly when the likable pilot character exits and the despicable protagonists take over, creating a 4-point swing from the scenic highs to the character-driven lows
Turbulence starts with praised cinematography of the Italian Dolomites but quickly deteriorates when unlikable characters dominate the survival thriller. While some found entertainment value in the contained action, most reviewers were put off by poor acting, weak plotting, and protagonists too awful to root for.
