Over Your Dead Body

Over Your Dead Body opens with a slow but promising setup before hitting its stride as a wickedly funny dark comedy built on the hostile chemistry between Dan and Lisa, earning its strongest reception in the first half. The arrival of the fugitives marks a tonal shift toward more violent, gross-out territory that divides audiences, with the repetitive escape-and-recapture cycle and edgier humor drawing criticism even as Michael's explosive arrival and the boat climax partially recover goodwill. The film lands as an entertaining, occasionally sharp crowd-pleaser that most reviewers found genuinely fun but felt never fully realized its satirical potential.
