The Strangers: Chapter 3
Tethered by a frightening conclusion, Maya and the Strangers are locked on an unavoidable, unforgiving collision course — a showdown that proves they’re far from strangers now.
Critics Sentiment
Maya stabs Jasmine with machete and smashes her head
Gregory trains Maya to act as Pin-Up Girl at motel
The film jumps from its lowest point during the tedious motel training sequence to its peak when Maya finally fights back against Jasmine.
The film starts poorly and remains consistently weak through most of its runtime, with critics finding the backstory unnecessary and the repetitive elements tiresome. However, Maya's psychological evolution and her final acts of violence against her captors provided the trilogy's most compelling moments, though not enough to salvage the overall experience. The ending manages to give some meaning to the trilogy despite the journey being largely criticized as pointless padding.
