Adult unicorn brutally kills Dr Song and security personnel
Ridley argues against misusing the unicorn using tapestry lore
The film jumps from its slowest middle section discussing tapestry lore to intense horror when the parent unicorns arrive for revenge.
Death of a Unicorn starts with a predictable setup but gains momentum when it commits to horror elements in the second half. Critics appreciated the gore and unique premise while criticizing the formulaic rich family dynamics and mediocre CGI. The film succeeds as campy entertainment despite missing opportunities for deeper character development.
