The Phoenician Scheme

Review Sentiment
Korda deceives Californians Leland and Reagan with contract changes
Saboteurs destroy Korda's plane revealing Bjørn as a spy
The film peaks during the Tom Hanks and Bryan Cranston cameo sequence before dropping significantly during the convoluted spy revelation and plane sabotage.
The Phoenician Scheme maintains Anderson's visual mastery and benefits from standout performances by Michael Cera and Mia Threapleton, but suffers from an overpacked plot that feels rushed and lacks the emotional depth of his earlier work. Critics consistently praised the aesthetic elements while noting the story never quite achieves the resonance of films like The Grand Budapest Hotel or Moonrise Kingdom.
