Solange takes over the front room nursery space
Solange refurnishes house and brings prayer circle without permission
The film plummets from its peak with Kathryn Hunter's entertaining performance to its lowest point during the gross-out bodily function sequences that reviewers found tasteless.
The Front Room starts with modest promise thanks to Kathryn Hunter's compelling performance as the antagonistic stepmother, but quickly deteriorates into tasteless gross-out humor focused on bodily functions. Critics found the film's religious and racial themes poorly executed, and the ending twist universally disappointing, resulting in a horror film that failed to deliver genuine scares or meaningful commentary.
