Return to Never Land
In 1940, the world is besieged by World War II. Wendy, all grown up, has two children; including Jane, who does not believe Wendy's stories about Peter Pan.
Critics Sentiment
Captain Hook arrives in London on his pixie dust enchanted ship
Jane's disbelief in fairies causes Tinker Bell to lose her strength
The film hits its lowest point during Jane's prolonged disbelief crisis around the 35-40 minute mark, then rebounds strongly in the final act as her character development pays off.
Return to Never Land starts promisingly with impressive animation of Hook's ship but struggles significantly in its middle act where Jane's stubborn skepticism becomes repetitive and drags down pacing. The film recovers in its final third as Jane's character arc resolves satisfyingly, culminating in touching moments between characters that reviewers found genuinely emotional despite the sequel's overall mediocrity.
