Any Which Way You Can
Philo takes part in a bare knuckle fight – as he does – to make more money than he can earn from his car repair business. He decides to retire, but when the Mafia come along and arrange another fight, he's pushed into it. A motorcycle gang and an orangutan called Clyde all add to the 'fun'.
Critics Sentiment
Philo and Wilson engage in brutal bare-knuckle fight in Wyoming
The Mafia kidnaps Lynn to force Philo into the fight
The film jumps from its weakest point during Lynn's kidnapping to one of its strongest with Clyde's romantic subplot, gaining 2.3 points as the comedy finds its footing.
Critics found this sequel superior to the original despite acknowledging its thin plot and broad humor. The film succeeds primarily through its character moments, especially Clyde's antics and the climactic fight sequence. While reviewers criticized the weak story and forced plot devices, they appreciated the more controlled direction and genuine laughs throughout.
