Tekken
In the year of 2039, after World Wars destroy much of the civilization as we know it, territories are no longer run by governments, but by corporations; the mightiest of which is the Mishima Zaibatsu. In order to placate the seething masses of this dystopia, Mishima sponsors Tekken, a tournament in which fighters battle until only one is left standing.

Tekken starts promisingly with decent world-building and solid early fight scenes that impressed critics as realistic for a video game adaptation. However, the film deteriorates significantly in its second half, with forced plot twists, poor character development, and disappointing final battles that left most reviewers feeling the movie squandered its potential. While some appreciated the faithful costume design and production values, the consensus was that it failed both as a Tekken adaptation and as a standalone action film.
