Renfield delivers exactly what it promises as an entertaining horror-comedy elevated by Nicolas Cage's scenery-chewing Dracula performance and Nicholas Hoult's charming lead work. However, the film suffers from tonal inconsistency, divisive supporting performances particularly from Awkwafina, and a scattered plot that never fully capitalizes on its clever premise. Despite strong gore effects and some inspired action sequences, the movie feels like a missed opportunity that could have been much more with better execution.
