Baby elephants barge into wedding night bedroom and destroy bed
Dallas writes farewell letter and flees fearing Sean's commitment
The film's biggest swing comes from Dallas's contrived departure (5.5) immediately followed by the beloved elephant chase through Arusha (8.2).
Hatari! maintains steady audience appreciation throughout its runtime, with particular praise for the animal sequences and Red Buttons' comedy. The film dips slightly during romantic plot contrivances but soars during its action sequences and comedic moments, culminating in a universally beloved finale.
