Gen trains Chun-Li and reveals Bison's backstory
Detective Maya and agent Nash investigate Shadaloo's crimes in Bangkok
The film's biggest positive swing occurs when Chun-Li meets Gen, jumping from the universally panned Nash introduction to the praised mentor-student dynamic.
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li maintains consistently low scores throughout most of its runtime, with reviewers finding it a poorly executed video game adaptation. The film's only bright spots come during the Gen training sequences, which reviewers praised for strong performances and well-choreographed martial arts. The movie suffers from terrible dialogue, miscast characters, and a disjointed plot that tries too hard to be a serious thriller.
