Biggest Swing

The film peaks when Tony meets Ann Archer with great chemistry, then drops significantly during the middle act's convoluted plotting.

Tony Rome starts strong with Sinatra's charismatic introduction and the Miami atmosphere, peaks during his scenes with Jill St. John, but suffers in the middle act from an overly complex plot with too many characters. Critics appreciated the cast performances and dialogue but felt the mystery became convoluted and lost momentum before a moderately satisfying resolution.
