Fear City

Fear City starts with effective violence and atmosphere that reviewers appreciated, but suffers in the middle act where critics found the karate killer concept ridiculous and out of place for a Ferrara film. The sentiment recovers toward the end as the personal stakes escalate and the final confrontation, while not perfect, provides satisfying closure with Wheeler's character arc completing the redemption theme.
