The Other Guys
Unlike their heroic counterparts on the force, desk-bound NYPD detectives Gamble and Hoitz garner no headlines as they work day to day. When a seemingly minor case turns out to be a big deal, the two cops get the opportunity to finally prove to their comrades that they have the right stuff.

The film jumps significantly from the overdone opening action sequence to the much more appreciated character-driven comedy once Ferrell and Wahlberg's partnership is established.
The Other Guys starts shakily with an overly busy opening but finds its comedic footing once the Ferrell-Wahlberg dynamic takes center stage. The film peaks in its middle section with character revelations and absurdist humor, but reviewers felt it lost some steam toward the end when it leaned too heavily into action mode.
