Halloween II
After failing to kill stubborn survivor Laurie and taking a bullet or six from former psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis, Michael Myers has followed Laurie to the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where she's been admitted for Myers' attempt on her life. The institution proves to be particularly suited to serial killers, however, as Myers cuts, stabs and slashes his way through hospital staff to reach his favorite victim.

Halloween II opens with strong nostalgic momentum from its seamless continuation of the original, but sags considerably through its middle act as underdeveloped hospital victims are dispatched in increasingly mechanical fashion and the two leads are kept frustratingly apart. The sibling revelation provides a narrative jolt that divides opinion but re-engages audiences, and the film recovers strongly in its final act, with the operating room showdown and fiery climax earning broad praise as a satisfying, if not transcendent, conclusion to the night's terror.
